What is SEO?
SEO is the acronym of Search Engine Optimization. It is the set of techniques aimed at improving the positioning of a website in the list of search engine results and, as a consequence, attracting more traffic to it.
SEO is part of something broader known as Inbound Marketing, a technique aimed at attracting potential clients by offering them different types of content.
Not everything that appears in a search is part of SEO. For example, the ads that appear next to the results are part of the Search Engine Marketing (SEM) technique which, in turn, forms part of Inbound Marketing.
This free online SEO course is focused above all on the first part, that is, SEO and, more specifically, practical SEO from start where you will not need prior knowledge.
Why use SEO on my website?
The quick answer is that this way you will be able to improve the position that your website occupies in search engines like Google or Bing.
If you have created a website, for whatever reason, your goal is for users to visit it, right?. That is why the best way to get people to visit your page is to occupy the first positions in search engines and, as a consequence, you will be able to attract more traffic and public to your website.
The above means that, for example, if what you want is to sell, you will be able to sell more products and, if what you want is simply to make yourself known, you will be able to reach a wider audience. Therefore, we can say that some of the benefits of applying SEO to a website are:
- Increase in visits, traffic and audience on your website.
- Increased income if you have a sales page.
- Make yourself known to many more people if your goal is to create a personal brand website.
- Improve your image on the Internet because a website with SEO applied, among other things, is fast, clean, well written and structured, with quality content… etc. All this means that the image you transmit through it, given that it is of higher quality than that of the competition, will be better.
Lastly, and not least, applying SEO techniques is simple, you do not need prior knowledge as a web developer and, when you have some practice, it will be something that you will do almost without thinking and automatically.
Why choose this SEO course?
Let’s be honest, there are countless free SEO courses on the Internet, so why choose this one and not others? I will tell you a little about the story of how I decided to take this course and you will be the one to make the decision.
This all started when I wanted to create a technology blog that would appear in the first Google search results. After a little research I discovered what SEO was and I started searching the Internet.
The truth is that I got a little dizzy since the information about SEO on the Internet is of very good quality, but I did not find any place where that information was really centralized and organized, so I decided to start creating a list of recommendations and SEO tips that I would later apply to my blog.
Later I found a basic SEO course in video format, which helped me put things in order a little and expand and give a structure to all the information I had on the subject.
So I thought, why not create a well-organized and structured SEO course so that anyone without prior knowledge can learn and apply SEO to their website from start?
Therefore, answering the question of why this SEO course and not another… Well, because this course is actually my notes on SEO well organized and written (as best as I could, suggestions are accepted) so that anyone who needs them has them at their disposal and can consult them whenever they see fit.
We will start with things as simple as what SEO strategy we should follow and how to approach any web page and we will end with slightly more complex topics such as, for example, how to implement a multilingual website optimized for international SEO and not die trying it.
Don’t take this as a course that needs to be memorized and learned verbatim… rather take it as a series of well-organized SEO notes and recommendations that you can consult whenever you need.
